Feeling inside – an exploration of the felt-sense (interoception)
How do you experience hunger and fullness? Come and learn about “interoception” – the science of feeling your insides, and find out about links with well-being.
In addition to our outer senses we have the ability to feel the inside of ourselves – a sense of fullness or emptiness, a strongly beating heart, a release of the chest.
We will investigate the inner organs that shout the loudest – the gut and stomach, and how mindful enquiry can promote bodily release and nourishing food choices.
Related books and artworks from the Collection will be available to browse. The workshop will be seated and is open to all. This is a free drop-in event – no booking necessary.
There is lots of free stuff to do in the Wellcome Collection – visit the galleries and exhibitions, eat in the cafe and browse the bookshop (open 10am to 6pm).
