Return to your body after the busyness of the holiday period. Use gentle movement to renew your energy and gather your resources for the brand new year ahead. The movements will be loosely based on Pilates and Qigong, no experience is necessary – beginners are very welcome. The science will explore “meaning and movement” using ideas from a field called embodied cognition.

Rough outline for the morning:
9.30 – Welcome circle
9.45 – Awakening movements
10.15 – The theory bit – a mix of scientific and traditional wisdom – clearly explained and applicable to everyday life, with time for questions
10.40 – Tea break
11.00 – Stillness and imagery
11.15 – Exploring movement on the mats
12.00 – Returning to upright, freeing movement from standing
12.15 – Closing circle
12.30 – Home
Cost: £30 or bring a friend new to Movement Space and come for £20 each.
